Parkland KIDSfirst is a healthcare coverage program designed for families who earn too much money to qualify for Medicaid, yet cannot afford to buy private health insurance. CHIP enrollment fees and co-payments are based on the family’s income. Enrollment fees are $50 or less per family for each 12 month term of eligibility and most co-payments for doctor visits and prescription drugs range from $3 to $10.
Changing times can mean changing insurance needs. Choosing Parkland KIDSfirst means your family may be covered by Parkland HEALTHfirst. You will be able to pick a doctor or clinic from a list of doctors and clinics close to where you live. This doctor or clinic you pick will be your Parkland KIDSfirst Primary Care Provider (PCP) and will help take care of all your healthcare needs. We also have Parkland Community Oriented Primary Care Centers (COPCs) located at many different locations in Dallas County. These clinics are designed to serve your most common health care needs.
