Texas Health Steps
Beginning September 1, 2007, Parkland Community Health Plan
(PCHP) will comply with the recent state requirements regarding
adjustments to the Medicaid fee schedule.
Texas Health Steps (THSteps) is the Early and Periodic Screening,
Diagnosis & Treatment program for children under the age of 21
who are Medicaid recipients. Services in this program include
comprehensive, age-appropriate assessments, dental, hearing &
vision screenings, immunizations and lab tests as indicated in the
periodicity schedule which is published in the Texas Medicaid
Provider Procedures Manual (TMPPM).
Health plans will be required to encourage members to schedule a
complete THSteps exam within the first 90 days of enrollment in a
managed care plan. Further, compliance with the periodicity
schedule of preventive health services and exam completeness
will be monitored.
PCHP will be scheduling information sessions, in-office trainings
and providing communication materials to educate providers over
the next few months.
We are posting an
overview of all of these changes here
on our website at www.parklandhmo.com
